Bound family account issues

We have several families running into trouble registering their students. This is our 2nd year using Bound and the families running into problems had students in Bound last year. Is there a setting somewhere that needs to be adjusted? Last year things went fairly smoothly, but I'm getting lots of emails and phone calls with parents struggling to get registration to work correctly. I've even logged in as that parent and and run stuck.

This is still an issue.
The Bound app will sometimes freeze the screen, forcing users to log in with Google since it is the first option and therefore the only one available. If they had previously logged in using a different option (eg. Apple ID or email), then a new account is created. This is not clear from the app.
Once they are logged in, their information is gone (since it is a new account), and there is no easy way to link this new account to the previous one. Users are forced to re-load everything in order to allow students to participate.
There seems to be no easy way to merge those families later.

Yes help my child is attached to another family even though last year I signed all documents as her legal guardian.
