Look at Details under a roster - like Height - Weight - Handiness - Have it auto populate anytime that kid is rostered.

That way the coach doesn't' have to redo entry - can just update if needed. I'd say jersey number can be excluded across levels or sports because it might change from varsity to JV team. etc. But the height/weight/handiness stays the same - just like the kids name stays the same.
